Tuesday Rehearsal

CAST-
Amazing rehearsal today!!!! WOW!!! so proud of your hard work these last 6 days. You blew through pages 1-51 today! We will continue the run and run 51-72 tomorrow to start rehearsal and then block pages 73-109 and run through problem spot songs but we should finish blocking of the show tomorrow except choreographed numbers by Jennifer. Everyone is called.

NOTES FROM PAGES 1-51
Noah-try not to run to fast over to Storytellers and then back to your Ogre parents.
Storytellers- MORE Excitement with telling of the story.
Parker-Work with Quinton to clean up your Scottish accent for Shrek.
Mya-Go slow on your line as your pig with the accent-hard to understand you
Fairytale characters-Your being evicted from our swamp-Need to see that in your entrance and how do you feel during Story of my Life?????

Trace-Better voice with Donkey-Stay consistent-Play your punctuation-take those tiny beats between punctuation or you are doing run on sentences.

Parker-be lost more after Story of My life-See me-You need to work more on ACTION-REACTION in scenes with Donkey and other characters.

Joey-Better with Farquaad but GO BIGGER-Play him up and out bigger than life with your delivery. Sometimes it sounds like you are just reading lines out of the script. He has a lot of POWER early in the musical-PLAY THAT!!!

Gingy-More urgency!!!! Voice is coming along
Hannah-see me for bit in Story of My life when they ask where Gingy is?
Parker/Trace-figure out WHY you are crossing-They are motivational crosses that you must know WHY you are moving as far as characters intention-not just because Mark told you to cross.

Parker-More reaction to Farquaad-What do you think of him? REACT.

Parker play punctuation when you have !!!!!!!!!! Punch those lines bigger!!!

Cast-Think of each SONG in the musical as a musical by itself with a beginning-middle-end. What is the song saying as far as the story of the musical-What are you conveying????

Cast-put phones away during rehearsal-you should NOT be on them during rehearsal while you are waiting to go on.

Kyra-Stick with Mama Bear at rehearsal to help you not one of the three pigs. Atlantis is in charge of helping you because you two are in all your scenes together with Papa Bear.

Knights/Guards-We need to work on laugh bit and freeze bit before Shrek's "Boo"

Owen-Be more official as Captain of the Guard-too much Owen. Work physical

Donkey/Shrek/Fairytale characters work on your physical for your characters!!!! Not your own.

What do Dulocians think of Farquaad?

Parker/Donkey-Why is the travel song in the show-What does it communicate to the audience as far as the "STORY" of the musical???? Need to see that in performance-
