-The scene from Alex waking up on the Beach to Sadie's entrance was so SLOW-Lemurs (Adelae-Aniya Zoe) You three are doing too much on your platform and stealing focus from main scene

-Brailyn-Cheat downstage when facing Lillian as Steak in Paradise-SEE ME

-Peyton Don't bow on you probably wont survive line

-Line dropped after Foosa ran off attacking Mort-weird,

-Penguins-Well this sucks-missed!

-Hard to hear Avery

-Show was SLOW today-PICK up cues!!!

MUSIC NOTES

Ben - fade "Showtime Playoff" sooner - as soon as Marty starts speaking

Ben - "Best Friends" track was too loud

Ben - Can we try having Avery use the hand held during "Best Friends" for her line?

Ben - Fade Hammernose music sooner

We need to review "Grand Central" - Harmony was not there and it did not sound together

Londyn - I can't understand the word "glow" in the line "Bask in my glow"

Noah - could not hear "Thank you" line

Penguins - review the reprise - the ending didn't quite work

Living in Paradise - SR lemurs - stick to what you have rehearsed

Alicia - were you chewing gum on stage?

Brailyn - enunciate all of your words in "King of Madagascar" - there were many words I couldn't understand

Atlantis - project more on "We got our boy back"

Mya - "Sushi" is sounding a little like "So-shi" - enunciate

We need to review "Together Forever" harmony - this song needed more energy tonight

Thursday NIght Performance Notes

GREAT JOB CAST!!! WONDERFUL SHOW! BETTER THAN OPENING!!

Notes

-Please knock on dressing room doors before you enter

-Hannah/Atlantis/Joey/Stella and anyone else. Can we stop with the pretend parenting game backstage with mothers and fathers-Its causing problems backstage with people calling people Mommy and Daddy and also focus problems during my notes. 

-Stella-Please stay out of the make-up room tomorrow

-Ben-Was Emma's hand held up on Showtime?

-Ben-The music levels in Wild and Free were being adjusted during the number????

-Hannah/Brailyn-have an acting moment before you go into a song-it looks like the actor is waiting for the music

-Hannah-Atlantis-Brailyn-Joey-Did you do a speed thru of all your scenes before the show like I asked? :(

-Mallory-see me about Kaleb shooting you

-Megan GREAT Hit with purse wit Alex-now step on his tail!!!!

-Brittain-Excellent placement on cannon-few more inches in.....

-Joey-when your in your crate-can't hear "giraffe giraffe" or even know your sleeping

-Joey-still hard to understand you at times do to your voice-try to over enunciate

-Joey-You have a line-Nothing worse than something in a crate-can't understand that line

-Hunter-missing line, "And we are out" with Candy Hammernose scene-

-Penguins-Missing line-to the ice!

-Peyton-Private-LOUDER

-Joshua-Don't make faces behind Candy-you didn't do that in rehearsal

-Noah-late on scream in tunnel-very important as that is the cue for Lemurs to enter

-Nice ad lib Zoosters waiting for Hannah to come off the top platform

-Aniya-don't spell out lemur-we talked about no changes before the show-just say lemurs

-Ben-Kadans mic was off on You probably wont survive!

-Zoosters please review your lines everyday-still some slow cue pick ups but better tonight

-Can end music after curtain call be louder

-Londyn-watch diction!!!

-Lillian-Play more Downstage on Living in Paradise as Marty Steak

-Cast-Keep smiling during EVERY NUMBER especially Steak!

-Joshua-BETTER on STEAK-congrats!!!!

MUSIC NOTES
I read your notes on the blogspot and you covered most of my notes already in your notes, but there are few additional ones below:

Ben - don't change the levels in "Wild and Free"

I would like to run/review "Wild and Free" during warm-ups tomorrow before the show.

Harmony was much better in "Steak" and "Together Forever" - yay!!

Atlantis - you were much sassier tonight - good job! 


Ben- playoff fade outs are much better - good job keeping the music playing after the bows, but it should be louder.

Opening Night Notes-Wednesday

Parents-PLEASE have you child at the theatre no later than 5:30pm. We cannot start running things until everyone is there and we only have the stage until 6pm

Great show cast!-WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Here are some notes to make us better Thursday night!

-Showtime
Joshua and Hunter-please do not mime taking pictures or eating fake food-it doesn't make sense and its distracting

Joshua-only do what you did in rehearsal as man on the street-you are doing way too much and over performing. Cut falling down when leaving. Good energy though.

Joshua-See Jennifer to work your Steak dance-you were a measure behind with choreography

Cast-Steak was rough with choreography-please throw hats gently to each other so they don't fall on floor

Peyton-missed second boat whistle

Joey-I know your dealing with allergies but its really hard to understand you. Maybe bring water onstage with you ????

Brittain-closer to animals with cannon so confetti falls over them

Cast go back to original seaweed on stick-the airheads are causing issues with chewing and speaking

Hannah-look over your lines-you look unsure on stage at times-pick up cues

Atlantis keep energy up-Say Madagascar? more energy

Joey-Projection line got a laugh-what do you know...…..Glad you applied the note :)

Penguins-don't look unsure onstage

Cast-don't look at audience during the show or wave at your parents

Zoe ears fell off and no one picked them up until the next scene-Lemurs ran right over them

Cast-if you have lines over music and no mic-you need to really project!!!!! (Avery/Mya/Brynlee/Peyton/Mort)

Mort-I just wanna-I just wanna-Louder.

Foosa-Be careful backstage-ran into Ships wheel.

Zoosters-Hanna-Joey-Atlantis-Brailyn-Please do a speed thru of lines before the show of all the scenes you four are in together-Cue pick ups are slow and there are lots of awkward pauses in your scenes-I feel some of you are not off book solid like you should be at this phase of the show.

Zoosters-an example is when Mort is getting eaten by the Foosa-your line pick ups are so slow and that scene dragged-they could of eaten all of Mort as slow as that scene is

Lillian-Don't get caught so far upstage as a steak in Living in Paradise-play more downstage or left and right extreme house will not see you

Cast on extreme right and left during Living in Pradise make sure you don't play too far downstage or you will block Hannah-Brailyn and Lillian center

Londyn-play more out with Julian-you play profile or 3/4th upstage with your body.

Ben-Play Move it after Curtain call-Can't have dead silence-It really confused the audience

Kaden-Better with Ships wheel

Brailyn-Slower-Lets get Crackin Lackin on these Foosa's

Showtime:

ZOO GUESTS on stage left take a knee when Melman says "I had to call in sick today" stand back up after. Megan was the only one who did this! 

In the Wild:

Clap on rhythm!! Movement still needs to be sharper from most of you. Especially back row please!

Steak:

Timing issues at end. Hats come off on the "ooohs" and back on at "dream of my.."

Brailynn do a little review on the dance, you can do the whole dance with them ;)

Paradise:

More energy! Such a fun song so big smiles needed more from EVERYONE! really do that reach on the chorus with lots of energy and make it sharp l! 

Foosa:

Bring Marty on center when you circle him and keep it a CIRCLE. Please :)

MADAGASCAR NOTES 07-24-2018 MUSIC

”It’s Showtime”

·         Atlantis- Sing out “makeup” more

·         Joey – project singing more on first solo

·         Track levels were all over the place volume-wise – please set your levels – meet with Ben before show? What time”

·         Walkie-talkies for us to booth?

·         Emma – use upstage hand to point to Alex on “Alex the Lion!!”

·         Cast – “Of New York City” is a solo for Alex

·         Hannah – continue vocal rest

·         Can’t hear Avery’s line over the music – track needs to be turned down

Atlantis –“I know that’s right” and “Maybe they don’t speak the language” – LOUDER – I had a hard time understanding those lines

·         Fill dead space before music starts – ad lib?

·         Look out to audience when you can!

·         Ben - Start track sooner

·         Work on timing track with blackout – ship horn – is there a way to separate those?

Kaden –“You! Higher mammal” – enunciate – that is a funny line!

“Penguin Sea Shanty” – great job, Penguins!!

Atlantis – AND WE’RE HERE TOGETHER SAFE AND SOUND!!” This line needs a lot more energy - Same with “San Diego”

Hannah – you need to sound happier that your friends are alive – needs more energy

Atlantis – MADAGASCAR?!? – You’re surprised to find out where you are.

·         Track too loud – I can not hear the singers

·         Londyn- good job on “dooooo”

“Move It” - ENERGY!! – Look out to the audience!

Londyn – good fill in as they are trying the seaweed

Londyn – great job on the lullaby!! Very funny!

“Steak” – Singers on stage need to sing out more and look out to audience!

·         Hannah – fill space in music before you sing if there is space

·         Hannah - “Home” – more breath support – this went under pitch

·         Track is too loud

·         Braliyn – good reaction to Lillian the steak

·         “Who’s the cat” is hard to understand – remember to enunciate the “t”!

·         “steaky steak” – I could not understand this – enunciate and slow down a little

Atlantis –“ Whoa! No you don’t!”– great job with the energy on this line – all your lines should have this energy

Kaden– wait for music to fade before your line into the tape recorder

“Together Forever”

·         Review harmony

·         Energy!! – Look out to the audience!

“It’s Showtime”:

·         Track level is too high!

·         Hannah don’t look at me when you sing

·         Emma – turn the other way on “Alex on the Lion”

·         Good job, Brailyn!  Roar at the end was great!

Zoosters - Sing “you act like a monkey and you smell like one, too” to the “Happy Birthday” song

·         Way to go, Brailyn!! You said your lines!!

Atlantis – good job on “you’re being so brave”

“Foosa Hungry” –

·         track is too loud

·         Foosas – more growling

·         Dynamics – build volume with each “Foosa Hungry”, then softer on the last one

“King of Madagascar”

·         Chorus – enunciate “Don’t cross this kitty” – I couldn’t understand those words

Londyn – good job on your monolog on pg. 91!

“Together Forever”

·         Brailyn – louder and more energy on “for Gloria, Melman, me and Marty”

·         Review harmony!!
