Parents-

PLEASE pick your child up by 4pm. I have had to stay waiting for rides until 4:45 the last three rehearsals. Remember we cannot leave your child outside by themselves waiting for a ride-Its very unsafe-So please arrive on time.

Please text me if your child will be late or absent at rehearsal. We had cast members miss rehearsal that they did not have listed on their conflict sheet. My number is 918-687-8825 TEXT or call if they are going to miss or be late. Excessive absences from rehearsal will lead to dismissal from the cast.

Please let your child know they must sing while at rehearsal-we have a few that are NOT singing. We did not cast 57 children who wanted to be in the show. We need everyone to sing.

Please do not have your child come to rehearsal if they are NOT called. We had some show up Thursday and they were NOT called.

Last night we had numerous parents backstage not helping with the show just taking pictures. If you are NOT helping with the show you cannot be backstage or come backstage after the show. I know who my volunteers are and tonight we will ask you to go to the lobby if you are not helping with the show. I hate to be like this but it's causing problems backstage-thanks.

THE CONTEST - Nadia - great job finishing your solo then stepping back! Princesses - too much pushing and shoving.  It's distracting.  Please do not add extra singing lines.

TIME'S UP: Add Ariel to the "Ah's" off-stage, then blend into only Ursula.

POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS REPRISE: Ursula - find important downbeats to land your words on  at the beginning so that you don't have leftover music. - voice, dry, bind, yes, break, is , try...

MONDAY JULY 28th-Maddy will be singing Part of Your World on Good Day Tulsa. Maddy needs to be at TCC at 7pm to get into costume to be art the Studio by 8am. We will go on at 9:45am

TUESDAY JULY 28th-Sophie needs to get into costume at 9am at TCC for a 10am interview on Fox 23

I'm sorry we changed the song and the TV stations changed the dates. We did not know we were going to be missing a Mersister this week.

King Triton-Continue to work on your PHYSICAL (Walk-posture) for king Triton and go over all the (!) and Underline stress lines-You need to play theses lines with emphasis and strength in your voice.

Ariel's-Maddy and Sophie-You both need to work on having EXPRESSION (Strong Expressions in ALL scenes with Ariel) You can never drop it during the show-We need to know how Ariel feels about each scene and her feelings with relationships to Mer-Sisters-Father-Sebastian-Flounder-Prince Eric-Grimsby-Carlotta-Ursula-Flotsam/Jetsam-Mer-Folk!!!

Chef Louis-GO over songs COOK-Watch Mermaid movie or YouTube video's for ideas-Work on your Chef Louis song-YOU MUST BE BIGGER AS CHEF LOUIS and MEANER :) The audience should be afraid of this guy :)

CAST-We ALL still need to work on off stage etiquette (behavior). Please do not talk loud or horseplay when someone is onstage performing. If you can't focus at rehearsal we will have to remove you from the show. The same can be said onstage. If you cannot behave when on stage or sell the song with expression than Laura and I will have no choice but to remove you from the number.

Remember: The older kids like Ethan-Atlantis-Mya and others need to be the examples offstage while others are performing so help us out :)

REMEMBER what we  talked about:

-If you come back in the room after singing with Laura please don't walk through the scene being performed
-Be respectful to the person(s) rehearsing onstage by not talking during their scene or being distracting
-When you are on stage you should be in character. If your not in character and you are fooling around instead then you risk being pulled out of that scene OR if you are a principle character-you may lose your role to someone else-We all need to FOCUS when we are onstage.

Below is the cast list for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. These were tough choices, and we could not cast all 81 children that auditioned. We have DOUBLE CAST Ariel and Flounder and each will split the performances (Dates to be decided this week) and then play chorus roles the night they do not play Ariel or Flounder. If you do not see your child’s name on the cast list please know there is still a chance they might get cast in the next few days as someone may not accept their part or not show up. In this event we will go back to the audition forms and offer the next role to those on our standby list. If you did get cast and decide NOT to do the show-please let us know ASAP. TCC Children's Summer Theatre will have auditions for Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. For children ages 6-12 (ages 5 and 13 with special permission) on June 28 from 1-4pm in room 6103 in the VanTrease Pace classroom at TCC Southeast campus. Auditions will consist of reading from the script, singing a simple sing like Happy Birthday and maybe an improv exercise if reading is difficult. The performance dates are July 30-31 August 1-2 at 7pm and August 3 at 2pm. Rehearsals run 1-4pm Monday-Thursdays starting June 29th. Tech notes

Tech Notes-
When you arrive at 1pm on Monday we will direct you to your dressing room. You may also change in the bathroom.
Trisha Moses Starnes and Alicia Decker Pauzauskie will be doing make-up on mostly the main characters
-After you get into costume-you may sit in the theatre quietly as John and I will be working notes.
-Bethanie or Kerri will be in the Smaller children's Dressing room to help the smaller kids get into costume
-We want the cast ready by 1:45 in costume to work things on stage and go over songs until 3pm
-We will run the show at 3pm-4:15pm and then give notes and get out of costumes until 5pm
-Stay out of any dressing room you are not assigned to
-Do not play with any prop that is not yours
-Use the downstage bathroom to go number 2-do not use the backstage bathroom-that is for number 1 only!
-If you are older and comfortable doing your own hair and make-up that is fine
-every small child in the chorus has an assigned seat backstage to sit in. Ethan Logan will be in charge backstage with Kerri and Bethanie Muehl Frank
-Wednesday we run the show twice and it is photo night for parents!
-No saving seats by cast members or parents during the run of the show-first come-first seat-it's free so get there early
Kerri Hurley will contact those parents who volunteered to usher.
-No phones-I-pads or computer games backstage-if we see you on your phone we will take it until rehearsal is over
-Do not bring valuables/money to rehearsal tech
-We do not supply towels-you may want to bring your own
-If you want to change into costume in private-just use the dressing room
-Make sure to have good hygiene and shower and smell good when you come to tech-lots of deodorant-you will sweat under those hot lights
-no food or drink in costume-only water!
-Check your props before we start and set them where you can find them
-We will need to run Makenna's changes before the run
-We will put on wireless mics on actors at 2:30=
