More Friday Notes-Music Notes/Acting Notes below that-in previous post

MADAGASCAR NOTES – 07/20/2018

“It’s Showtime”:

·         Brailyn – “And it’s almost time” sounded like “And it’s almost dime” – enunciate the “t”

·         Hannah – please rest your voice over the weekend

·         Cast – when you step with Marty during crackalackin, step lightly on the platforms – the stomps were covering the singing.

·         Penguins – project your lines over the music – I couldn’t hear you.

·         Peguins – you are doing a great job projecting when you are singing.

·         Cast – you were late coming in on “On the ice” with the penguins.  Be ready for that entrance.

·         Cast – the ending of this song sounds great – good job projecting with harmony!

·         Brailyn – Wait for your last “Roar!” It goes in the rests before “In the Central Park Zoo!”  You are roaring over the music and then there is dead space.

#3 “Penguin Underscore” – this wasn’t played

“Wild and Free”:

·         This track was too loud

·         Cast – “Wild” needs a bigger D sound and that word is short. “In the wilD (rest) (rest), in the wilD”

·         Claps weren’t together and they need to be softer

·         Hannah – work on mm. 31-35 with me

“Best Friends”

·         Brailyn and Hannah – review harmony

·         Face out to audience when you are singing

#6 “News Underscore” – Good fade on this when Candy Hammernose started speaking – don’t turn it back up

“Relax, Be Cool, Chill Out” – Hannah – work on this with me

“Penguin Sea Shanty”

·         Kaden – remember to say “sing it with gusto!” – that is the cue to start the song

·         review harmony on “and the birds are bold” – I can hear the top part, but not the bottom part

“I Like to Move It”

·         Lemurs – don’t forget to sing “low, low” and “high, high” with Londyn

·         “Everybody up, everybody jump…” – enunciate! It is hard to understand what you’re saying

·         Joey – bigger reaction to Gloria’s BOOM, BOOM

“Steak”

·         Brailyn – great job capturing the mood of this song!

·         Steaks – sing louder – I can hear the backstage singers better than the singers/dancers on stage – don’t forget to sing!

·         Review “Ooh” harmony and “doo-doo-doo-doo” harmony

·         “Add a little zest” – enunciate!

·         Brailyn – talk to Mark about what to do with hat and cane

“Living in Paradise”

·         m. 27 – say “It’s” before “paradise, paradise”

·         m. 34 – review harmony, part 2

·         better on “who’s the cat” – keep working on diction/enunciation

·         Brailyn – missing lines – “I miss home cooking” (m. 49); “I haven’t eaten in two days” (m. 51); “My blood sugar’s low” (m. 53)

Kaden – project lines over penguin music

“Foosa Hungry”:

·         Came in late on the first “foosa hungry”

·         Karissa is doing a good job snarling – everyone needs to growl or snarl

“Together Forever”

·         Remember the singing adds on at the beginning – Melman, Gloria, Marty, Alex only, then add penguins, then everyone

·         Review harmony on mm. 47-63 – I can not hear part two singing harmony in these measures.
