Costume Information/Rehearsal CALL/NOTES For Characters/T-shirts

TUESDAY REHEARSAL JULY 11-ALL CALLED NOTES FROM TODAY: Young Simba: Jaxon-Don't fall out of character when you're onstage-React to EVERYTHING and OVER REACT because your typical reaction is just not big enough. Watch body onstage-Make sure you face out and don't sing behind people-be downstage or in a window, Zazu-Devin-Play Zazu much bigger!!! Much More frustration with Young Nala and Simba-Much BIGGER reactions-Much Bigger Facial expressions. Young Nala-Abigail: REACT to everything onstage-and REACT BIGGER! Don't fall into Abigail on stage. Don't say the lines or sing lines of other characters during scenes and songs. OLDER Simba-Dylan-Find URGENCY in your Objective as Simba-Put as much energy onstage as you do offstage sitting with others-and I mean that as a compliment, What is to lose if you don't win your objective. What do you want in the show???Know what's at stake for your character and play against your obstacles with great ENERGY and PASSION. OLDER Nala-Kate: You need to make Nala STRONGER-MORE confident onstage. Watch Shadow lands in other productions on Youtube and notice Nala's DRIVE/HER STRENGTH. We need that from you much much more in your song and scenes. Put more strength behind your lines and passion in Shadow lands that you must leave to find help! Sirabi: Atlantis-Need to connect with the Lionesses more-they need to know who you are as royalty when you come onstage-TOO MUCH ATLANTIS. Work on Physical walk. Mufasa: Ethan-Mentor Young Simba-Connect with him more onstage-Always keep him in front of you. Define all your blocking-Have a reason for everything you do onstage. Pumba-Reagan: Don't fall out of character-Keep character voice consistant. Careful adding new stuff until you have what you've been given down with your character. Timon-Mallory: Slow Down with Timon-Find a variety of levels so Timon is not always screaming. Be a mentor more to Young and Old Simba-Make that connection on stage. Rifiki-Brailyn: Try not to look at me when performing-Stay confident and keep your focus onstage. Play with her accent and continue to explore her movement-Watch production of her to give you ideas. Rifiki-Zoe-Stay confident and keep your focus onstage. Play with her accent and continue to explore her movement-Watch production of her to give you ideas. Be more confident with your singing-You are doing GREAT!!! Scar:Christian-Keep working on your character voice and Physical-Don't rush his vocal. If you listen to the soundtrack that should give you a clue of his vocal and the pace at which he moves and speaks. Hyenas-Banzai-Claudia/Shenzi-Hannah-Ed-Brynlee Go over your blocking-Don't rush your scenes-Know you WANT FOOD and you will do anything for it! Ed-Brynlee-Play your comic bits-Don't rush them or laugh at yourself doing them and the pay off with your audience will be GREAT!!! Animal Chorus/Lionesses-CAST-REACT TO EVERYTHING-IN EVERY SONG-What is the song about? How do you feel. CAST: T-SHIRT MONEY DUE TOMORROW!!! LION KING, JR
Costume Requirements: ATTENTION PARENTS
Costumes are being rented for the production this year.
Not all components are being supplied in the rental and you
may have to supply part of your costume.
Below are the needs as they stand now.  When we unpack I'm
sure there are going to be some surprises.
We ask that no logo be on your garments (animals don't wear logos!)
Rafiki  **	black ballet /jazz type -
Mufasa / Scar /Simbas	tan/ nude ballet / jazz ; natural canvas like toms
Sarabi / Nalas / Sarafina /Lioness	tan/nude ballet or jazz shoe
	tan/nude/toast leotard
Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Hyenas	black ballet/ jazz or black Chinese slip ons
Zazu ;  Timon;  Pumbaa	not sure yet but black will be safe bet with shoes
Giraffe ; Zebra	solid Black tights, legging, sweats
	solid Black t shirt - preferably long sleeve
	black shoes
Ram; Impala;	black shoes
(not sure what is coming- Be prepared!	** solid black or brown leggings, sweats, tights
	solid black or brown t shirt - preferably long sleeve
Blue Birds ; flamingos  ; Gazelle	black ballet, jazz type
**  These costumes we are not sure if a
top, pants, bodysuit are coming or if just masks/headpiece
You may need to supply something at last minute
